BIGGERSVILLE — As an added treat for Lions football fans on Friday, former Mississippi State quarterback Matt Wyatt will be on campus during the day, and at the game that night, featuring Biggersville on his weekly show ‘Hometown Hero’s.

The Lions will be hosting Smithville in a contest featuring a pair of teams listed among the favorites to win their respective divisions.

The Seminoles are in Region 2-1A while Biggersville is in Region 1-1A. The two teams have been in the same region before and could be again soon, based on how reclassification goes next spring.

Wyatt is a well-known SEC Network personality, and former Bulldog player, with thousands of viewers, as well as thousands of followers on his twitter account.

“This is really big for the community of Biggersville,” said BHS principal Pete Seago. “The series Hometown Hero’s shows what game days and game nights are like around the state. Matt was in Amory for week one and was in Tupelo last week. His appearing here is a reflection of the accomplishments of our team and our community.”

Seago added, “We encourage all our fans to wear black. Our cheerleaders are leading in blacking out the home side. We also remind everyone to wear a mask and practice social distancing.”
