It wasn’t as one-sided as most expected but it was another impressive shutout win for Walnut Friday as they traveled to Middleton and defeated the Tigers 30-0 to improve to 2-1 on the season.

The Wildcats will welcome Biggersville next Friday.

C.J. Adams began the game with a seven-yard touchdown run for WHS before Eli Dollar added a six-yard scoring run in the second to help the ‘Cats build a 14-0 halftime lead.

James Hinson and Austin Watson added second half TD’s as Coach John Meeks squad won with ease.

Dollar led six Walnut backs that rushed for at least 20 yards with 53 of his own.

Waverly Central 42 McNairy Central 0

The homestanding Bobcats turned the ball over six times in their 42-0 loss to Waverly Central at Don Whitaker Stadium. McNairy Central is now 0-4 while Waverly Central improves to 3-0.

The ‘Cats will travel to Lexington next Friday.

Myrtle 44 Thrasher 7

The Rebels reached the end zone once but it wasn’t near enough as a tough Myrtle squad left Death Valley with a 44-7 win, leaving Thrasher at 1-2 on the season.

Coach Ross Coley’s Rebs will be at Mantachie next Friday.
