Records: Baton Rouge 7-9, Northeast 13-3.

Notes: Northeast is receiving votes in the final NJCAA rankings of the season. The Tigers are the No. 2 seed in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament while Baton Rouge was the No. 18 seed.

Northeast avoided the upset when Jacob Tracey hit a pair of free throws with 12 seconds remaining. Baton Rouge had three attempts with less than 10 seconds left to take the lead, but all three were no good.

Zeke Cook had a double-double for the Tigers with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Northeast held a +10 edge in rebounding and had six blocks as well.

The Tigers advance to the quarterfinal round of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament. Northeast is scheduled to host Delgado (La.) on Tuesday (April 6). Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. inside Bonner Arnold Coliseum.
