Lions defense still has bite

Biggersville rising senior defensive back / linebacker Zyonn Mayes (7) lays the wood to a Nanih Waiya ball-carrier during last season’s North Half 1A championship game, causing a fumble. It was one of six turnovers the Lions created against the Warriors, who move up to Class 2A for the next two seasons, in a 26-0 victory. Biggersville has some ‘bite’ returning on its defense, including Mayes, Jathan Hatch, Drew and Dylan Rowswey and Zae Davis to name a few. The Lions open the season on Aug. 27 when they travel to West Lowndes.
