Lady Warriors win comfortably over Alcorn Central

Corinth senior Kennadi Walker (25) grabs a rebound next to Alcorn Central’s Emi Farris (22) during the Lady Warriors 49-29 win over the Lady Golden Bears Tuesday at ACHS. Walker scored seven as Zakiah Gwyn and Johnna Mills led CHS with 15 and 14 respectively. Farris scored four for Central, who was led by seven from Olivia Walker. Corinth is now 1-1 while Central is 1-3. In the boys contest, Corinth held a slim 17-13 lead at the end of one quarter but exploded for a 73-48 victory behind a team high 14 from Chris Rodgers. The Warriors had four players in double figures. Keegan Hicks led the Golden Bears with a game-high 17 while Brady Talley followed with 14. Corinth evened their record at 1-1 while Central falls to 0-4. Corinth host Kossuth Thursday while Alcorn Central welcomes New Site on Friday. Both girls girls squads will play in Saturday’s Biggersville Girls Invitational.
