Kossuth senior signs baseball scholarship

Kossuth senior baseball standout Jaxin Settlemires (seated, center) signed scholarship papers recently with East Mississippi Community College in a ceremony at KHS. Settlemires has been part of the Aggies varsity squad since his freshman season, making his first starts as a sophomore. He is a dual threat as a pitcher and a shortstop. "I am so proud of Jaxin and all he has accomplished so far in his career," said Kossuth head coach Daniel Threadgill. "He has played multiple positions for us and I expect him to compete for a starting spot at East Mississippi when he gets there. The thing that stands out most about Jaxin is he is one of the finest students and young men you could ask for as well as being an outstanding player." Joining Settlemires were his parents Abby and Keith Settlemires as well as coaches Brandon Bobo, Threadgill and Creighton Nelms.
