There were no ‘freebie’ games last week so it was every man for himself (or herself, whichever the case may be).

Admittedly, it was a tough slate of games to choose the winners from but when all the Pigskin Picks ballots had been perused and graded, seven pickers were tied with identical 11-2 records.

Once again, there were no 12-1 or 13-0 ballots. But we’re expecting those numbers eventually.

The seven pickers who went 11-2 were Will Burns, Justin Little, Barry Singleton, Lamar Keith and Teddy Hinton – all of Corinth – along with Freeda Flake of Walnut and an anonymous ballot that contained no name, address or phone number.

And the shame is, that would have been the winning ballot.

By virtue of the tiebreaker, the number of total points scored in the Biggersville/Eupora game (72), the Pigskin Picks winner of $25 this week is Will Burns, who was closest to that point total with his guess of 50.

The anonymous ballot picked 51 for the tiebreaker. Lesson learned … ballots must be filled out completely to qualify. Please check ballots before mailing or bringing them by the office to make sure the same thing doesn’t happen again.

Congratulations to Burns, who is a long-time Pigskin Picks player, along with being the stat man for Kossuth football among roles he plays.

The games for this week are on the ad page as usual. be sure and have all ballots to the Daily Corinthian office by 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Good luck, good pickins’ and thanks for being loyal readers of the Daily Corinthian sports pages.
