Shiloh, Tenn. — Enjoy the scenic beauty of America’s best-preserved battlefield at the 14th annual Shiloh “Run in the Park”.
Rotary Club of Savannah is the host of this 4 miler at Shiloh National Military Park on Saturday, September 18 in beautiful Hardin County, Tennessee. Registration begins at 7 am and the run starts at 8 am.
Young and old alike can walk, jog, or run down historic lanes lined with cannons, monuments and split-rail fences. The setting combines the historic attractions of Shiloh Battlefield along trails and roads mostly on asphalt. Enjoy the outdoors all while supporting Rotary youth scholarships.
No celebration would be complete without food and refreshments at the finish. Water stations on the course, of course! All runners get a cool tee! There will be awards presented for race winners in several categories. Pre-registration fee for the 4 miler is $25; forms can be found on line at www.facebook.com/RotaryClubSavannahTN, Savannah Rotary or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by visiting Tennessee River Museum in downtown Savannah.
“Runners from the tri-state area and all surrounding counties have already begun signing up to run” shared Rotary President DeLaney Timberman. “We invite all groups and individuals to join us, whether you are a runner, a walker, or a civil war history buff, you’ll love this event!”
All proceeds go to the Savannah Rotary / Rotary International, which benefits high school scholarships, and several international endeavors including PolioPLus (a program launched by Rotary International to eradicate polio from the earth).
