GLEN — Amory paid a visit to Alcorn Central Tuesday and left town with a pair of Division 1-3A victories.

The Lady Panthers, led by a game-high 29 from Jalavie Smith, turned a close game into a rout in the second half as they won 63-42.

Jessica Hughes led the Lady Bears with 21.

In the boys contest the game wasn’t decided until the Panthers were able to successfully inbound the ball with less than a second remaining for a 63-62 win over the Golden Bears.

Check Thursday’s Daily Corinthian sports pages for more on this game and others, including a sweep for Biggersville on the road at Jumpertown as well as a pair of road losses for Corinth at New Albany after sweeping the Bulldogs at home before Christmas.
