AC earns yet another playoff berth Photo by Donnie Bates Photography Oct 5, 2021 Oct 5, 2021 0 Facebook Twitter WhatsApp SMS Email Print Save AC earns yet another playoff berthAlcorn Central senior Makensie King (11) returns a volley in recent game action as teammate, junior Cayleigh Shipman looks on in support. The No. 1 (3A) Lady Bears earned the programs eighth straight playoff berth last week and will close the regular season Thursday against defending 2A champion Walnut. Central hosted Booneville Thursday in their Region 1-3A finale. If division foe Kossuth defeated Mantachie at home on Tuesday, the No. 2 (3A) Lady Aggies would be the No. 1 seed heading into next weeks opening round of the MHSAA playoffs, meaning they would host their first round match while Central would travel. The county rivals could very well face each other again, this time on Oct. 19 with the North Half championship on the line.
