In my nearly two months as CEO, much has happened at Magnolia Regional Health Center and in our nation’s healthcare delivery system. As the world’s attention has focused on COVID-19, so has this talented team of caregivers which I have come to know and trust in my short time at MRHC.
Our team takes our responsibility to prepare and respond to the needs of our patients seriously. In this uncertain time, you can be sure that MRHC is doing everything we can to make sure we meet your needs today and long into the future. The MRHC team is watching COVID-19 closely and coordinating our response efforts with local and state health officials. Together, we are:
Implementing precautionary measures, as suggested by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Screening all hospital visitors and staff when entering our facilities.
Limiting visitors in our Emergency Department, main facility and clinics to protect the safety of our patients.
Staffing a hotline to address questions and concerns about the virus. Community members can call 662-293-1144 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. to speak to an MRHC caregiver and what to do if you have symptoms.
Implementing telemedicine capabilities in our clinics to provide care in a safer environment.
Whether it’s coronavirus or another healthcare-related need, we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to care for all who call Corinth, Alcorn County and the surrounding region home.
At MRHC, our mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve…one patient at a time. In my nearly 25 years working in the healthcare industry, it is rare to find an organization like MRHC that truly brings our mission to life – both at the bedside and in all facets of our organization. Since my arrival, we have been evaluating how we can continually provide great care and an excellent experience to our valued patients.
As part of these efforts, we have reviewed policies and processes, including how we ensure all members of the community have access to the care they need. And in doing so, I have come to find that I am even more proud of who we are at MRHC. Last year alone, MRHC provided $15 million in free or reduced care to the most vulnerable members of our community. This is truly remarkable, and I look forward to continuing our mission-centered calling in the years to come.
It’s hard to believe it’s been almost two months since joining the MRHC team. It’s been quite a whirlwind for sure, and I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our doctors, nurses, employees and caregivers. Their commitment to prepare, protect and provide high-quality care is clear, and I am grateful for them. I would also like to commend our community on your unwavering support. From continued notes of encouragement to the park and pray event at our main campus, which included well over 250 vehicles, no words can adequately say thank you enough for the strength you all continue to provide for our team.
Please know that improving your health is our number one priority.
