A new event is set to bring spring fun to downtown Corinth.

M&M Productions will host the Corinth Classic Spring Fling April 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds of the historic Corinth Depot.

Organizers Zack and Scarlett Marcinek said they want to bring people together for a day of fun, fellowship and celebration of the city and all it has to offer.

“We wanted something for the community to get together and what better way to do it,” said Zack.

The day will feature something for everyone, he said, with events throughout the day and numerous vendors.

Vendors will include local artists, food vendors, games, balloon art and much more.

A cornhole tournament will offer a $100 cash prize for the top single and team winner along with trophies.

The unique rock, paper, scissors tournament will also give a chance for a prize with the winner choosing between $100 cash or a new Nintendo Switch game system.

Another highlight will be the Corinth’s Top Model competition with divisions for all ages. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on stage. Scarlett Marcinek said they encourage all participants to dress stylishly, accessorize and have fun with the competition as they compete for the title and prizes.

Zack said the local Reconnect4Autism group will also be on hand throughout the day sharing information as they mark National Autism Awareness Month.

“We just want to create an event where everyone will be welcome and everyone can have fun,” he said.

They also want to give back with the project. They hope everyone who comes will take the time to explore downtown and support local businesses.

“I want this to be a day to celebrate Corinth. It’s such a great city. I believe it’s one of the greatest cities in the world,” said Zack.

All funds raised from vendor fees will be donated to local schools. Scarlett said they plan to talk with the superintendents about the best place for the donation to be used and she hopes to put it toward encouraging arts education.

Vendors for the event include Woodpecker Cornhole Builders; Gamezone Battle Games; Artist Megan Haynie Face Painting; The Balloon Twister; Pool Doctors (Dunk Tank); Reconnect 4 Autism; Sunrise Apparel and Gifts; Hello There Custom Designs; Yappy Dawgs Food Stand; Sassy & Co Shakes and Deli; Wildwood Nursery; Tri State Crawfish; Chic Virtuous Woman Jewelry; and Custom Door Hangers by Wendi.
