Police charged a fourth man in a homicide dating back to 2017.

Sanchez Sorrell, 23, turned himself in the day after police released information about other arrests in the case and identified Sorrell as a wanted suspect, according to Corinth Police Department Capt. Dell Green.

Sorrell is charged with capital murder.

Those previously charged are Antonio Reyes, 29; Ricky “Steven” Patterson, 26; and Zachariah Tays, 27.

The four are charged in the April 2017 shooting death of Shomarick Payne, 24, at his Glover Drive residence.

Police described the crime as an apparent robbery during which Payne was shot in the back of the head. When a friend came to check on him, he found the front door open. Police found Payne on the kitchen floor.

The case resurfaced as the result of an interview with Reyes on March 5 after his arrest for possession of methamphetamine. Information led police to Patterson, who was arrested for stolen firearms. Tays then turned himself in.

Patterson is believed to be the shooter.
