Mission 22 golf tournament honors late veterans

Family members of four local veterans who lost their battle at home following their military service time due to PTSS, TBI and other related illnesses gathered at Hillandale Golf Course on Saturday for a special celebration. Standing in front of specially made silhouettes with name plates of the fallen heroes at the base are family members of the four men honored at this year’s tournament. Air Evac medics landed on the driving range and presented flowers to each family member while representatives Harold Jones and Lisa Lambert of local funeral homes McPeters Funeral Directors and Memorial Funeral Home, sponsors of the event, greeted and gave hugs to each family member. A special lunch before the afternoon tee time saw a large crowd gather to support the Mission 22 foundation. One hundred percent of the funds raised during the golf tourney go to Mission 22.
