A Booneville man has been indicted for capital murder almost nine years after allegedly killing his 7-month-old daughter.

Jimmy Wayne Senter, 29, was indicted earlier this month for capital murder. The indictment states he caused the death of his daughter, Emma Graice Senter, on Sept. 9, 2012, while committing child abuse.

Senter pleaded not guilty Monday to the capital murder charge and a separate child abuse charge related to the abuse of his 8-week-old child in October 2020. He was arrested in October 2020 after the child was admitted to LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center and an investigation was opened into abuse.

Sheriff Randy Tolar indicated the new investigation led to information that allowed them to reopen the older murder case.

Senter is being held without bond on both charges. His probation has also been revoked in a separate earlier aggravated assault and felony malicious mischief case in which he had 24 years remaining to serve after being convicted of shooting a man during an altercation on County Road 8051 in Prentiss County.
