FARMINGTON — A late model Ford F-150 plowed through the left front wall of the Farmington Dollar General Monday afternoon, sending at least one person to Magnolia Regional Health Center for treatment.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the truck entered the Dollar General parking lot around 3:30 p.m. and never stopped until he had crashed into the wall. The driver was not immediately transported for treatment and was alert and speaking with law enforcement officials who were on the scene.

The checkout counters and store office are located directly behind the caved-in wall where the truck entered the building. One unidentified Dollar General employee was working inside the store office when the accident happened. She was trapped inside the office for a few minutes following the impact, but managed to break free and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

First responders, Farmington Fire and Recuse, Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department and Magnolia Regional EMT responded to the scene.
