A new term of Alcorn County Circuit Court has begun, and a trial ended with a guilty verdict on Tuesday.
A jury found Noreyan Kaden Hill guilty of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Judge Michael Mills imposed a sentence of 10 years to serve in custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
The trial began on Monday.
Hill also has a pending murder case in the shooting death of Spencer Ryan Thorne.
The following are sentences given following guilty pleas thus far in the current term, according to court records:
Landon Michael Braudway, 32 – Ten years to serve for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon consecutive to an additional five years to serve for escape and an additional five years to serve for conspiracy to commit a crime (escape). He also received a suspended five-year sentence with five years of post-release supervision for failure to stop a motor vehicle when signaled by law enforcement and a suspended eight-year sentence for possession of methamphetamine.
Dustin Matthew Glidewell, 27, burglary of a building – Seven years to serve and restitution of $480 to Dollar General. Glidewell also entered a guilty plea to a separate indictment of burglary of a dwelling with intent to commit larceny and received a concurrent three-years to serve with five years of post-release supervision and restitution of $13,800 to an individual.
Samson Alexander Bennett, 33, aggravated domestic violence (strangulation) – Five years to serve with five years of post-release supervision. A criminal protection order was entered.
Tony Deangelo Elliot, 47, taking a motor vehicle with a value of $1,000 to $5,000 – Suspended five-year sentence with four years of probation
Tracy Lee Russell, 57, DUI third offense – Three years in the Intensive Supervision Program in lieu of five years in custody followed by two years of post-release supervision
Jeremy Lynn Smith, 35, grand larceny – Four years in the Intensive Supervision Program in lieu of 10 years in custody followed by five years of post-release supervision. The sentence includes restitution of $700 to Corinth RV. On a second count of grand larceny, he received a suspended 10-year sentence.
Jared James Weber, 33, possession of methamphetamine with intent – Suspended 20-year sentence with five years of post-release supervision. He also entered a guilty plea to a second indictment for possession of methamphetamine and received a suspended eight-year sentence.
