A case that had been set to go to trial this week in U.S. District Court is staying out of the courtroom by way of settlement.

The age discrimination case filed by Jone Marie Dixon, the former justice court clerk, against Alcorn County and Justice Court Judge Jimmy McGee in his individual capacity, was recently settled among the parties with undisclosed terms, according to court records. Judge Sharion Aycock signed an order Sept. 7 dismissing the case with prejudice.
