Children have fun with building blocks in the pre-K classroom at Biggersville Elementary School.

Pre-kindergarten registration is just around the corner for Corinth and Alcorn County schools.

In the Alcorn School District for pre-K classes at Alcorn Central, Biggersville and Kossuth, registration is scheduled for Feb. 25 from 2:30 to 6 p.m. and Feb. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pre-K Director Tammy Johnson said parents should register their child at their home school during these times.

“Registration will be completed online and personnel will be available to help with the process,” said Johnson. “Those with questions about where a child must attend elementary school can contact the district office.”

Parents will need to bring two proofs of residency (utility bill, driver’s license, voter registration, etc.), a birth certificate for the student, a current immunization compliance form and the student’s social security card to the registration.

Corinth School District Marketing Director Taylor Coombs said pre-K and kindergarten registration for Corinth Elementary School would take place on Feb. 22-27.

“Pre-K is open to those children who will be 4-years-old on or before Sept. 1, while kindergarten is for those children who will be 5-years-old on or before Sept. 1,” said Coombs. “Current CES students do not have to register.”

Parents are welcome to visit the campus to register their child on Feb. 22-26 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 to 2 p.m., as well as from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Feb. 27.

Documents needed for Corinth registration are the same as Alcorn with the exception of a shot record.

CDS requires the 121 Form and the shot record must be marked complete for school entry pre-k through sixth grade or temporary compliant until shot date.
