A head-on collision claimed the life of a Glen man early Saturday.

Capt. Ben Gann of the Corinth Police Department identified the wreck victim as Donald Gene “Donnie” White, 73, of County Road 256.

It happened at 8:34 a.m. Saturday in front of 3855 Proper Street. Gann said a 2005 Honda Pilot driven by Karry Spencer Taylor, 52, of County Road 156, crossed over the center line into the westbound traffic, striking White’s vehicle head-on.

White was driving a 1987 Chevrolet pickup.

Taylor was taken to Magnolia Regional Health Center and remained hospitalized on Monday. Gann said the pending charges against Taylor are aggravated DUI third with death, possession with intent to distribute marijuana with a firearm enhancement, and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with a firearm enhancement.

A memorial service for White is set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at McPeters Funeral Home.
