It’s time again for the community to come together to help those in need this Christmas season as the annual Corinth Rotary Club/Daily Corinthian Christmas Basket Fund marks its silver anniversary.

This is the 25th year for the program which joins with the community to provide food baskets for local families.

One thousand baskets were given away on Saturday, Dec. 19 on faith the $21,000 goal will be met.

The goal was set to support this year’s program and donations are still needed to make the program successful.

Basket Fund donations can be made “in honor of” or “in memory of” a special person, persons or groups. They can be family, friends or co-workers.

All donations and tributes will be recognized in the newspaper and will be accepted through Friday, Jan. 8.

Donations continue to arrive as the community celebrates 25 years of giving. The 2020 fundraising total now stands at $20,985.

Donations include $50 from Karen M. Settlemires in honor of James L. Miller.

Donations can be brought by the newspaper office at 1607 South Harper Road in Corinth or mailed to: Daily Corinthian, Attn.: Christmas Basket Fund, P.O. Box 1800, Corinth, Miss. 38835. Newspaper office hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is also an after-hours drop box. The office will be closed Friday for the New Year’s holiday.

Be sure to include if the gift is in either in honor of someone living or in memory of a special person who has passed away. Please include the person’s name with the donation.
