Authorities are seeking help from the public in locating an area man wanted for a charge of false pretense.

Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi issued a request for information in locating Junior Leroy Barnes, 55. Barnes, also known as JR Barnes, is wanted by the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department for a charge of false pretense.

He was last seen in the Walnut area. Officials say they also have information he may be in Tennessee.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi at 1-800-773-TIPS (8477) of download the free P3 Tip App to leave an anonymous tip.

A reward of up to $1,000 in cash is available through Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest in the case.
