More and more local players have purchased lucky lottery tickets in the Crossroads area recently.

On the heels of several winners in August, a Corinth man last week won $1,000 on a 20x the Cash scratch-off game purchased at Sprint Mart #27 on Highway 72 in Corinth.

August winners included two Corinth players of the Mississippi Lottery’s Triple 7 scratch-off ticket. A $20,000 winning ticket belonged to a Corinth woman who purchased the scratch-off game from T-Mart #7 on Highway 72 East. The second winning ticket in the amount of $2,000 was purchased by a Corinth man from Murphy Oil on South Harper Road.

The Mississippi Lottery completed its August transfer of $13,057,478.52 in net proceeds to the Lottery Proceeds Fund in the Mississippi State Treasury last week. This brings the approximated Fiscal Year 2022 net proceeds total to $21,903,717.38.

In accordance with the Alyce G. Clarke Lottery Law, the MLC is required to transfer net proceeds within 20 days following the close of each calendar month.

Lottery officials are searching for the $80,000 Mississippi Match 5 winning ticket which remains unclaimed. The ticket was purchased for the Sept. 16 drawing with the winning numbers of 4-11-21-23-31. The ticket was sold at a gas station in McComb. The player has 180 days from the draw date to claim the prize.

Both the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots continue to grow. The jackpot for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing is now an estimated $490 million. Tuesday night’s Mega Millions jackpot was for an estimated $432 million and the Mississippi Match 5, also with a Tuesday night drawing, has a jackpot of an estimated $55,000.

Both the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots have been rolling since June. Wednesday’s Powerball drawing will be the 36th roll for this drawing. Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing was the 30th roll for this drawing.
