The Grinch may have stolen Christmas in Whoville but he’ll be bringing Christmas joy to the City of Hospitality this coming Monday.
The annual Booneville Christmas Parade, hosted by the Booneville Main Street Association, will hit the streets at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 6 following the traditional route from Northeast Mississippi Community College down Second Street and through downtown. This year’s theme is “Whoville in Booneville.”
Lineup starts at 5 p.m. at NEMCC.
Following the parade there will be carriage rides, hot cocoa and cookies and visits with Santa on Main Street.
Miss Caitlyn Miller was named the Booneville Christmas Queen and Jocelyn Ball was the runner up. All the young ladies will represent their civic clubs on during the Booneville Christmas parade.
This year’s grand marshall will be Will Tennison. Tennison, a Booneville High School student and the son of Bradley and Ginger Tennison, was diagnosed in February with osteosarcoma, a bone tumor in his right leg. Mayor Chris Lindley said he is being honored for his courage, tenacity and positive attitude and example as he’s faced this challenge.
