Another tree will soon be coming down on the Prentiss County court square.

Supervisors voted Monday to approve the removal of the large oak tree on the southwest corner of the square. The board authorized Chancery Clerk David “Bubba” Pounds to seek quotes on the removal of the tree.

Pounds said a limb from the tree recently fell and landed on a vehicle. He said the tree is dead and needs to be removed due to safety concerns.
