Prentiss County supervisors noted the completion of one major project and approved a pair of grant agreements during their first regular meeting of the month.

The board head from County Engineer Kent Geno who said a final inspection was set for this week on the Wheeler sidewalk project. The project has installed new sidewalks along the road near the school. Third District Supervisor Mike Kesler said the work looks great and was a big improvement when the community held its Christmas parade on Saturday.

The board approved a final agreement for an aproximately $18,000 justice department grant for the sheriff’s department. The funds will be used for the purchase of equipment, including radios.

Approval was also given for a $22,000 grant for improvements at the Booneville-Baldwyn Airport.

The next regular meeting of the board is set for Wednesday, December 15 at 10 a.m. at the county chancery building.
