Prentiss County supervisors started the year with the acceptance of annual supply bids.

Supervisors approved a lengthy list of bids for construction supplies including various forms of rock, asphalt and other items, during their first meeting of the year on Monday.

The board also voted to accept the lone bid received for depository services for the county from FMBank.

Kevin Hendrix was approved Monday as assistant receiving clerk for District 3.

The board also gave approval recently to a new employee handbook which will clarify and standardize rules for all county employees. Copies of the new handbook will be distributed to employees in the coming days.

The next regular meeting of the board is the mid-month meeting set for Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. at the county chancery building.
