The Booneville Police Department has made several felony arrests in recent weeks.
Police Chief Michael Ramey reports the following arrests, all in separate, unrelated cases:
William D. Rainey: On Jan. 27, 2023, officers were dispatched to the downtown area of Booneville to investigate an incident involving an unidentified suspect striking a light fixture with a motor vehicle and leaving the scene. Investigation led to the location of the vehicle and suspect involved in the incident. As a result, William D. Rainey, 51 of Humbolt, Tenn, was arrested and charged with one felony count of malicious mischief. His bond was set at $50,000. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.
Jose Lavern Tynes: On Feb. 2, 2023, officers responded to a residence on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for a reported burglary. Investigation led to the arrest of Jose Lavern Tynes, 45 of Booneville.
Tynes is charged with one count of burglary of a dwelling. His bond was set at $50,000. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.
Crystal Eyvonne Shuler: On Jan. 31, 2023, officers were called to a business located on South Second Street for a female passed out inside of the business. Officers arrived and found Crystal Eyvonne Shuler, 41 of Houlka, asleep in the floor of the business grasping drug paraphernalia. Further investigation determined that Shuler was in possession of methamphetamine. She was arrested and charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. Her bond was set at $2,500. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.
Jimmy Adolph Box: On Jan. 31, 2023, officers investigating suspicious activity at a location on College Street encountered Jimmy Adolph Box, 55 of Ripley. Box was discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested and charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than two grams but less than ten grams. His bond was set at $5,000. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.
