A Booneville man faces a felony charge after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Marietta.

Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar reports William Ray Norris, 35, of Booneville has been charged with grand larceny. Bond was set by Justice Court Judge Kimi Kitchens at $50,000 and a hold was placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He also has other felony charges pending, noted the sheriff.

Norris is accused of taking a 2002 Chevrolet Tracker valued at $4,500 from the Marietta area on September 14. The vehicle was later recovered and returned to the owner.

The case will be presented to the next Prentiss County grand jury.
