The initial rollout of fiber optic broadband internet service to Prentiss County Electric Power Association customers is nearly complete.

PCEPA Manager Ronny Rowland said they are almost done connecting all customers who have applied for internet and/or telephone service from Prentiss Connect.

“We are a few weeks away from connecting all PCEPA members that over the last 18 months have applied for our Prentiss Connect internet and telephone service. We are very excited to be nearing the end of our commitment of getting fiber to all of our customers that applied for service,” said Rowland.

He encourages anyone who has considered the service to apply now since connections will be much faster while this initial phase is ongoing.

Rowland said he’s thrilled to see the project come together and appreciates the patience of customers and the hard work of employees in making it happen.

“Thank you to the many people that helped our contractor employees and our PCEPA employees in so many different ways as they worked. There has been a lot of extra hours worked to fulfill this dream and to keep everything moving as fast as possible. We are considerably ahead of any other surrounding coop in connecting internet customers and will be the first to finish. All 4 coops that surround our system are working very hard to connect their members and will be another year or 2 to completion,” he said.
