City of Booneville residents are being reminded of changes to how they pay their annual property taxes this year.

Earlier this year the city agreed to partner with Prentiss County for the collection of city taxes. All city property taxes will now be collected through the Prentiss County Tax Collector’s office in the county courthouse.

Mayor Chris Lindley said tax bills should begin going out around Thanksgiving.

Residents will be able to pay their city taxes at the county tax collector’s office beginning Dec. 1. Due to the need to prepare for the transition tax bills will not be able to be paid prior to Dec. 1, said Lindley.
