Prentiss County Election Commissioners are looking at options for transporting the county’s new voting machines.
Circuit Clerk Mike Kelley told the Prentiss County Board of Supervisors on Monday commissioners would like the county to consider the purchase of an enclosed trailer to transport the machines to polling places for each election day.
After discussing possible options, the board directed Kelley to obtain information on the cost of renting a box truck for each election to use for the purpose rather than purchasing a trailer that would only be used a few times a year and could deteriorate while sitting unused.
Kelley said he would look further into options and return to the board with a recommendation.
