Do S. Chicago and Corinth have something in common?

I read the Sound Offs about the rough roads in Alcorn County and Corinth. I travel all over, working, and I agree with them. I believe we have the worse roads of any part of the state.

I have a friend who was going to move back from Chicago. He made a round through the city and said he never seen as many old junk cars piled up and jacked up and haven’t been cranked in years; or old porches all junked up. He said it looked just like South Chicago to him and he believed he’d find him somewhere else to move to.

Roads are a ‘people’ problem and also a weather problem

I just read Sound Off where people are talking about the roads.

The roads are a “people problem.” People throw out stuff all over the road and don’t have any pride in the city or the county. They throw out beer bottles, beer cans, food they have been eating — they throw it all out on the side of the road. It is the supervisors’ problem to get it up and they need help to get it up.

And when talking about the roads being in bad shape — the ice we have had and the cold rain has tore the highways up and will continue to do so until we get new black top down. When they get the new black top down it will stop it for a while.

Maybe we won’t have any more ice this year until next winter. The bad weather has given us the problem with our roads being tore up this winter.

ACE helps customer's peace of mind

I wanted to take a minute to thank ACE power. I live in the Kossuth area and through our bad winter weather my power never went off. Whatever the weather, I am expected to be at work and its nice to know my kids are nice and warm at home because school was cancelled.

Its easy to complain about your bill being too high, all bills are hard to pay these days, but I for one am proud of all the hard work that has went into the system. I remember the days power would be out every time the wind blew hard. So thank you.
