BOONEVILLE – Northeast didn’t have to go far in adding some local talent.

The Tigers signed a quartet of district players to the 2010 football roster as part of National Signing Day festivities at NEMCC.

Two Corinth Warriors and a pair of Booneville Blue Devils signed on for the Tigers. CHS receiver Diante Curlee and quarterback Parks Frazier along with Booneville’s Bo Brown and Jeiron Jones will join the Tigers in the fall.

Curlee -- the Division 1-3A Offensive Player of the Year -- set career highs across the board with 59 catches for 907 yards and 11 scores and added 231 yards and a TD on the ground. He leaves as the program’s all-time leader with 147 grabs, 1,892 yards and 21 scores.

All told, the senior tallied 1,760 all-purpose yards and 17 TDs while setting single-season and career marks for non-offensive scores. He had five TDs via return in 2009 -- including three picks -- and finished with eight in 48 career games.

Frazier established a new season mark for completions this past season. The QB was 152-287 for 2,273 yards and 19 touchdowns. Frazier, injured in the team’s playoff opener with Leland, threw only six interceptions during the season.

Frazier turned in a record-setting performance against Ripley in 2009. He was 25-38 for 423 yards and five TDs. He finished the thriller with 474 yards of offense. The last two seasons, Frazier made 20 starts and finished his career 279-493 for 3,898 yards and 39 TDs. He racked up 4,896 yards of offense and was responsible for 54 touchdowns.

Brown -- selected the division’s most valuable player -- rushed for 1,305 yards and 21 scores in helping Booneville win its first Division 1-3A title. At linebacker, he recorded a team second-best 115 tackles -- leading the squad with 79 solo stops -- had three sacks and one interception, which he returned 60 yards for a score in a 44-37 win over Corinth.

Jones completed 121-236 passes in helping the Blue Devils reach the North State Championship Game. The senior threw for 2,314 yards and 18 TDs. The BHS QB also had another four touchdowns on the ground.

Northeast signed a total of 24 players on Wednesday.
