A Corinth man faces a felony drug charge following a traffic stop.

Johnny W. Austin, 72, of County Road 600, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and several misdemeanor traffic violations, said Sheriff Ben Caldwell. Bond was set at $7,500, and he remained in custody Wednesday morning.

The arrest happened about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on County Road 515 near Highway 45. Following the stop, he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, the sheriff said.

Narcotics Investigator Adam Rencher is in charge of the case.
