Booneville walked off a winner, while Baldwyn walked of early.

Corinth and Kossuth both came up on the short end of the stick Tuesday, falling in their slow-pitch contests to Booneville and Baldwyn, respectively.

Booneville scored two runs in the last of the seventh to hand Corinth its first loss in five starts via a 4-3 decision.

Baldwyn needed just three innings to tally an 18-1 win at Kossuth and keep the Lady Aggies winless.

One of the two will return to the winner’s circle on Thursday as the rivals face off for the first time this season with a 5:30 start at the CHS softball complex. The home-and-home series will conclude on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Kossuth.

• Booneville outhit Corinth 17-7, but needed a pair of runs in the seventh to take the win.

Corinth led 1-0 after a half inning, before Booneville took a 2-1 lead after five complete with single runs in the third and fifth.

CHS (4-1) went back on top 3-2 with a two-run sixth.

Rebekah Williams paced Corinth’s seven hit attack with three, all two-base jobs.

• Kossuth managed just two hits against Baldwyn in falling to 0-4.

Carleigh Mills provided the host club’s lone run with her fourth homer in as many games in the first inning.
