Sam Tull has put a stamp of approval on the reopened Hillandale Golf Course.

He also ruled the day against two course champions.

Recently Tull carded a hole-in-one on No. 2. The course, which reopened for play on June 18, offers three sets of tees for all levels and Tull aced the hole from 122-yards out via the Senior tees.

Tull wielded a 6-iron for the feat.

Witnesses and playing partners included Bill Stone, Dennis Bumpas and Ralph King.

Stone was a three-time champion (1971, 1973, 1976) of the Hillandale Invitational -- later renamed the Bill Childs Invitational. Bumpas claimed the title in 1989.

Hillandale Country Club closed its doors in late 2012 and has since taken on a new owner. The course will remain open until the end of October, when the future of further play will be reevaluated.
