The Dixie Youth Mississippi championship is there for the locals taking.

They just need a little help getting there.

The Corinth/Alcorn County All-Star team recently finished as runners-up at the annual District Tournament. The second-place finish earned the Crossroad’s Regional Park’s 10U Dixie Youth baseball club a berth in the State Tournament.

Play in the Mississippi championship beings July 18 in Mendenhall.

“Time did not allow for them to have a fund raiser, so donations would be greatly appreciated to help cover the boys lodging and travel expenses,” said a team spokesperson.

The team is comprised of youth who competed on various teams during league play on Joe Dan Moore Field. Players include: Cameron McCreless, Samuel Curtis, Spence Coffman, Aiden Holt, T.J. Oakman, Elgin Harris, Brayden Smith, Hunter Rorie, Matthew Inman, Brison Harris, Chapman Burress, Drew Pullen, Collin Clifton and Parker Gurley.

Jeremy Oakman and Aaron Holt comprise the coaching staff.

(To make a donation please contact Aaron Holt or the Crossroads Regional Park at 286-3067.)
