The Alcorn School District is currently looking to fill several job openings before the 2014-15 school year begins in August.

The district is still accepting applications for the math teacher/head girls basketball coach at Biggersville High School. All applicants must hold a current Mississippi Teacher License with a 154 (7-12) Math Endorsement.

The position was the center of attention at a recent school board meeting. Parents and students showed support for the hiring of current BHS boys basketball coach Cliff Little for the BHS girls basketball coach position. The supporters believed the school district should only be advertising for a math teacher.

The board is excepted to announce a decision about the position at the next regularly scheduled board meeting on June 30 at 5 p.m.

The search is on for an assistant principal at Alcorn Central High School. The school district is currently advertising for the position. All applicants must hold a current 486 Mississippi Administrator License with 7-12 Endorsement/Endorsements to teach in a high school setting.

The assistant principal’s goal is to assist the principal with administrative and instructional functions and development and implementation of the school plan to carry out the mission and goals of the school.

The district is also looking for a new network administrator to work out of the district office and service all 11 campuses in the district. The employee will maintain a secure and functional network within the district in which students and staff can work and learn with technologies that enhance their efforts.

The district is also in need of several bus drivers for the incoming school year.
