The Alcorn School District Board of Directors recently acted on numerous staff changes.

The board accepted the retirement of Lisa Wigginton, who has acted as the federal programs director and secondary curriculum coordinator in the district office for several years.

The board also accepted the retirement of Helen Isbell, the district’s technology coordinator. Isbell's last day on the job is slated for June 30.

The board approved resignations from Gary Johnson, Chris Parman and Candace Brown.

Johnson, the long time Biggersville High School principal, is set to leave his post on June 30, 2015. He will serve as principal during the 2014-15 school year set to begin on August 7.

Parman will leave his post as a BHS math teacher and the BHS girls basketball coach effective July 31. Also effective the same day, Brown will no longer be employed as a teacher at Alcorn Central Middle School.

Approval was given to employ a handful of certified staff members for the 2014-15 school year.

At Alcorn Central Elementary School, Tina Price-Downs and Tasha Barnett will join the staff. Barnett will be taking a teaching position.

Jason Suggs and Eric Lancaster will join the teaching staff at Alcorn Central Middle School, while Travis Smith will take the position of ACMS assistant principal.
