Bobby Thompson, 35, of Booneville, remains in custody at the Alcorn County Jail after being apprehended by the Booneville Police Department and Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department.
Thompson was transported back to Alcorn County early Wednesday morning. Bond has yet to be set in the case.
Jeff Hall, 33, was found by deputies from Alcorn County and Jacinto First Responders around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The shooting occurred at Hall’s home off of Highway 356 and about a mile from downtown Rienzi.
“Deputies found a white male subject shot in the chest when they arrived,” said sheriff’s department investigator Reggie Anderson. “Once the scene was processed and after receiving information, we were assisted by officers in Booneville and Prentiss County where an arrest was made.”
According to Anderson, Hall and Thompson knew each other.
“We are putting the pieces of the puzzle together and more information will be released when the investigation is complete,” said Anderson.
Anderson was assisted by deputies Mackie Sexton, Caleb Marolt and Mike Billingsley. Investigators Heath Thomas and Tommy Hopkins are also helping in the case.
