Two of the three Alcorn County clubs still involved in postseason play will look to return to the softball diamond today.

Corinth and Biggersville will host Game One of their respective best-of-3 series today, weather permitting.

Kossuth, which earned an opening-round bye following its second straight Division 1-3A championship, has already pushed the second-round series with South Pontotoc back to Thursday and Friday.

Game One will be played at South Pontotoc on Thursday. As the higher seed, Kossuth would then host Game Two and Game Three -- if necessary -- on Friday.

• Corinth, which swept Division 3 No. 2 seed Yazoo County, is schedule to host Division 4 champion West Lauderdale today at 6. If weather forces a postponement, the game will be rescheduled for Wednesday -- mostly likely at 5 p.m.

The Mississippi High School Activities Association’s website, which uses a third party’s program to post the playoff brackets, lists Kosciusko as the Lady Warriors’ opponent. However, according to CHS Head Coach Janna LaBarreare, Corinth matches up with West Lauderdale.

The Lady Knights would host the one-day possible doubleheader on the following day.

• Biggersville, which pulled off an easy doubleheader sweep at Division 3 runner-up Ray Brooks on Friday, is set to host Division 4 champion Smithville today at 5. A postponement would push the series start back a day.

The Lady Seminoles have the home-field advantage by being a No. 1 seed, and would host Game 2 and Game 3 -- if needed -- the day following the completion of Game One.

• Corinth and Kossuth will return to action in the baseball playoffs on Thursday, playing Game One and Game Three -- if needed. The two are scheduled to host the middle game on Friday -- with Louisville at Kossuth and Lafayette County at Corinth.
