A pair of Kossuth seniors recently signed to play baseball at Lewis & Clark Community College.

Catcher/Pitcher Tyler Mercer and outfielder Zack Walker signed with Randy Martz’s program in Godfrey, Ill.

The pair played key roles as juniors in Kossuth’s run to the Class 3A championship -- a first for the school -- during the 2013 season.

Tyler is the son of Shane and Amy Mercer. Zack is the son of Ron Walker and the late Carolyn Walker.

Kossuth, now under the leadership of Trave Hopkins and assistant Kyle Nichols, improved to 14-10 overall with a first-round sweep of O’Bannon on Friday. The Aggies will continue their road to a repeat Thursday at Louisville.
