"Girls from zero to eighteen may participate in the pageant and they can be from any county," said the pageant director Tiffany Kennedy.
The pageant will be on Saturday, Nov. 23 in the Corinth Coliseum. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the pageant follows at 10 a.m.
"It is a charity event and we are raising money for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Foundation. Each year there are over 1,000 kids on the Angel Tree. The purpose of the pageant is to raise money to give to the Salvation Army and to buy presents for children still on the tree," said Kennedy.
Contestants must sign up if they want to participate in the pageant.
"They can start registering at the door. The deadline for pre-registering is Nov. 22. They will contact either me or Diana," said the pageant director.
This is going to be a large pageant with eight different groups.
Divisions include zero to 12 months, 13 to 23 months, two to three year olds, four to six year olds, seven to nine year olds, 10 to 13 year olds, 14 to 16 year olds, and 17 to 18 year olds. There will be two Grand Supreme winners.
"We will have a competition for Christmas attire if they want to participate in Grand Supreme. The 11 to 18 year old girls will not be participating in the Christmas attire. We will also have a Miss Photogenic," said Kennedy.
"Grand Supreme winners will receive $150 each, plus a free gift, a crown and a sash," the pageant director said.
"In order to get a form, they must come get one from me. They can also pre-register by calling me or Diana. Pre-registration is $25, and on the day of the pageant registration is $30. There is also a $5 charge for anyone wanting to see the pageant, but the contestants get in free," Kennedy said.
Since this is a Christmas pageant, Santa Claus will also be at the Coliseum on the day of the show.
"Santa Claus will be out front until no later than 1 p.m. Parents can take pictures of their kids siting in his lap and they will be given a piece of candy," mentioned the pageant director.
There will be trophies presented to each of the division winners. "There will be three trophies per division. Each division will have a queen, a first alternate, and a second alternate. Ray Livingston from Trophies By Ray is donating 26 trophies to the pageant," Kennedy said.
"We hope everybody to come out and participate. Anybody wanting to donate and not participate can do so that day," added Kennedy.
