Volleyball: Corinth drops tourney games

The top-seeded Corinth Lady Warriors saw their return to the volleyball playoffs ended Saturday at the Ripley Event Center.

Corinth, which went unbeaten in the seven-team round-robin during the regular season, dropped a pair of close contests at the Division Tournament.

The Lady Warriors, who had a bye to the semifinals, fell 2-1 to Tishomingo County in their opening bout. The host Lady Tigers claimed the consolation match -- and last playoff berth -- with a 2-1 decision in Corinth’s next match.

Corinth ended the season at 13-16.
