“We will be one of more than 8,000 sites across the nation sending the message that after-school is key to children's success, and that we must keep the lights on and the doors open after school,” Club Director Christy Grice said.
Parents, media, employers, neighbors, school officials, including others, have been invited to help the program rally support for safe, stimulating afterschool programs.
“We would like for you to be a part of our local celebration,” said Grice.
Thursday's event is set for 6 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, 511 Clark Street, Corinth, and the program will include a balloon launch followed by a reception honoring three Local After-school Ambassadors.
As After-school Ambassadors, the persons being recognized bring great energy to the work of building stronger support for afterschool programs among parents, businesses and community leaders, lawmakers, and others, according to Grice.
