A woman died from injuries in a three-vehicle accident Saturday.
A Walnut woman was killled and three more family members of a white Chevrolet Impala were also hurt following a three-vehicle accident around 3:45 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Salem Road and U.S. 72 East in Corinth.

Alcorn County Coroner Jay Jones identified the victim as 44-year-old Theresa Lahey of Walnut. He said she was pronounced dead at 5:02 p.m. in the Magnolia Regional Medical Center Emergency Room by Dr. Jeremy Graham. She was a passenger in the vehicle.

A pair of males and two females were transported via ambulance to Magnolia Regional Health Center after the vehicle appeared to be rear-ended while traveling east on U.S. Highway 72.

A maroon Jeep 4x4 and a white Chevy Trailblazer with a license plate from Hamilton County in Tennessee were also involved in the accident.

The Jeep had damage down the driver’s side along with a flat tire on the back. The Impala had major damage to the rear while the Trailblazer, which came to stop some 200-300 feet away from the initial impact, had significant damage to the front.

At least seven officers with the Corinth Police Department, Corinth Fire Department First Responders and two MRHC ambulances responded to the call.

An investigation is underway in the fatal wreck and no other details were available Saturday evening.
