Lions get sweep against Mrytle

MYRTLE -- A Monday night double-header brought home two victories for Biggersville in close contests.

In the opening match, the Lionettes scored their first win for the 2012 season for a 49-42 final, , lead by Jada Tubbs with 21 points.

Myrtle Lady Hawk Meshay Cox lead both teams with 24 points.

For the closer, the Lions kept it close with the Myrtle Hawks in an 88-86 final that included a 13 point deficit for Biggersville at halftime.

Marquis Watson led the Lions with 16, while Hawks player Robert Montgomery dominated both teams with 33 points.

With the win the Lions improve to 5-2 for the season, while the Lionettes move to 1-5.

Biggersville will see action again at their home court on Friday night when they play host to the Wheeler Eagles. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
