Patterson scores the hard way as Corinth beats Shannon

Corinth senior running back Zack Patterson collides with Shannon cornerback Keonta Freeman as he scores the hard way in the first quarter of the Warriors] 29-28 win over the Red Raiders. Corinth amassed 428 yards of total offense, 340 coming from its vaunted rushing attack, and limited Shannon's gun-slinging quarterback Jordan Gilleylen to 168 yards through the air. The talented QB torched the Tribe defense for 300 yards at Shannon last year. The Raiders scored with 20 seconds remaining in the game but missed on the two-point pass attempt as CHS secured its first win of the season. Read the game story for more details.

Warriors primed to start, finish strong in 2018

Corinth backup quarterback Jordan Biggs sets up to throw in a practice session at Warrior Stadium earlier this week as new offensive line coach Ivan Denton watches (far right). Third-year head coach Todd Lowery has his squad primed and ready to begin the season tonight at Warrior Stadium as they host Shannon. The Red Raiders won last year's season-opener in Shannon but the Tribe is bigger, better, faster and stronger than last season and handled a good South Pontotoc team in the Mississippi State Kickoff Jamboree at Davis Wade Stadium last Friday with a convincing 23-0 blanking. Read the Warriors' preseason preview for more on this year's CHS edition.

The Lady Warriors just had a little too much on this night in the first meeting of the season between the two powerful Alcorn County programs.
