A Corinth man wanted by the FBI in connection with a drug distribution conspiracy turned himself in at the Alcorn County Jail on Wednesday.

Kennoris Lattrell Hughey, 37, aka "Trell" and "Head," was transported to Oxford and transferred to federal custody, said Police Chief Ralph Dance.

The FBI's Jackson Division had earlier put out an alert seeking the public's assistance in locating Hughey, who is described as a known member of the Gangster Disciples street gang in Corinth. He was wanted for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking in northeast Mississippi beginning in early 2017. On July 25, a federal arrest warrant was issued by the U.S. District Court after Hughey was charged with drug distribution conspiracy in a sealed indictment.

The alert warned that Hughey should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to court filings, Hughey was part of a group involved in the distribution and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, marijuana and other controlled substances.
